The Nikon D40
For so many years now, Nikon has been quite a huge name in the industry of cameras. Sure, they can price their products quite high, even higher than the products of other brands. But Nikon cameras come with such quality that this becomes more than understandable. Still, Nikon has been striving to change things a bit, and the Nikon D40 is one of their first cameras that are not priced all too high, especially if you shop at wize.com.
You can even get the Nikon D40 for a mere $600! What’s more, for this small price, a lens kit comes with the camera already! You actually cannot opt to get the camera alone for it comes as a whole package. Still, for this low a price, this is already a great bargain! And the lenses come in the range of 18-55MM. Perfect for any beginner at digital photography!
And when it comes to DSLR, this is actually the lightest and the smallest you will find in Nikon’s product line. Because of its small, compact size, you can easily place your camera in the smallest of purses or bags. The battery life is quite long as well, in that you can take close to 500 shots when it’s fully charged.
If you’re interested to know more about the Nikon D40, drop by Wize.com for its full specs and features.

I have a Nikon D70 and although quite old now, it’s fantastic! If I was just starting out in photography I would definately try and get an SLR and a D40 is an excellent beginer’s choice. I especially like the battery life on the Nikons, lasts for ages!

I agree that the D40 is a great ambitious beginners camera. I have a wedding planning business and while I don’t need to capture photos as perfect as the Photographer is required to do, I do need to capture the look of the day, the venue, the setting of the ceremony, the table settings, the entertainment and the general atmosphere of the day for my own portfolio and I find the D40 is perfect for my requirements. I have some exceptional shots that even surprise me from my trusty D40!
